Helping People
One Lap at a Time
Shinny cars, beautiful paint jobs, spins and crashes.
The roar of a big V8, squealing tires, the beautiful whine of a turbo
charger at full song.
A day at the race track is a full sensory experience, one most of us
take for granted. Imagine going to the race track if you couldn't see or
hear. There are millions of people who face each day with different
degrees of impairment. Some are both deaf and blind.
You and I, working together, have the chance to make
people’s lives a little easier and hopefully find a cure. My goal is for
everyone to join me at the race track to enjoy the full sensory experience
of the sport I love. Together we can make that happen.
Racing for Sight and Sound is a fundraising partnership
between Casmir Autosport and the Foundation for Sight and Sound.
Motorsports is one of the most popular sports in the
world today. We leverage that popularity with the fine work of the
Foundation to create a fund raising program which will grant 100% of the
money raised, to the researchers and organizations most in need.
We're able to grant all the pledge money because our
sponsors fully fund the race team's budget, allowing all of the money
raised in the Racing for Sight and Sound pledge program to be granted.
Intrigued??? We thought you would be. So read on and think about how
joining our team could help your business and potentially help cure visual
and auditory illnesses.
The Concept
Racing for Sight and Sound is a pledge based
fundraising program which utilizes the fast paced, thrill packed, world of
motorsports to pique and keep the interest of both the pledge seekers
(Crew Members) and the pledge makers (Team Members).
Crew members solicit pledges for each lap the Racing
for Sight and Sound team completes during the season. The team will also
earn "bonus laps" based on the team's finishing position. If the
RSS team car crashes or has a mechanical failure and doesn't complete a
race, we earn less for the Foundation.
After every event we will post updated results,
pictures, videos, and a journal keeping all team members in the loop with
up to the minute information on the team's progress.
Crew members will earn incentives like t-shirts,
posters, and team caps for reaching higher fundraising goals. The crew
member who raises the most money earns an all expense paid trip to a race
where they will be a member of the pit crew.
The Foundation
The mission of the Foundation for Sight & Sound is
to enhance the quality of life for individuals affected by visual and/or
auditory challenges of varying degrees and origins.
The FSS provides grants to qualifying organizations that offer direct
services or engage in research for these conditions.
All donations are channeled to specific projects otherwise lacking
financial support, and not to the general fund of any other organization.
The Foundation for Sight & Sound is committed to creating a world
in which people with vision and hearing challenges can realize their full
potential to live lives of unlimited possibilities.
